We organize visits to the Mines de Poux site during the summer season.
Alone, with family or friends, come discover the vein and collect your own amethysts !
Prices, times and reservations:

Duration: approximately 1h45.
A guided tour, led by one of the founders, which will allow you to learn more about the crystalization of amethyst and historical exploitations in Auvergne, dig around to collect your own pieces, and observe a preserved vein.
This activity is available by reservation on weekends in June and September, and every day between July 6th and September 1st, 2024.

Free for children that are 6 years old and younger. Payment on site, in cash, check or credit card.
The ticket includes 150g of free amethyst (150g/pers.).
Would you like to bring more amethyst home? Buy the surplus for only 2€/100g. -
The site is open by reservation every weekend in June and September, and every day between July 6th and September 1st, 2024.
The departure of the guided tour is at 4:00 p.m. (other slots possible if full group) from the car park. -
Reservations can be made by email at reservation-visite@cominauv.fr or by telephone at +33 7.88.33.03.84 (we refuse any commercial canvassing, this number is strictly reserved for visits). Please book at least 48 hours in advance, remember to check if there are enough places left for you on the visit by clicking on the calendar, it is updated daily.

To prepare for your visit:
Make sure to bring a pair of closed shoes, suitable for walking (access is on foot from the car park, and the visit represents a total of just over 2 km round trip); bring hats/caps or other protection against the sun, and take enough water. Finally, a bag to store your finds can be very useful!
Pets are accepted but must be kept on a leash at all times, and their droppings collected if done in a circulation, observation or collection area.

Accessibility:
We can transport physically disabled people with our vehicle from the car park to the site. However, the visit to the site itself can only be done by foot (around 500 m of walking, with breaks). Please specify your transportation need in your reservation request.

Amenities/security:
The site has a permanent surveillance post with a first aid kit and water for emergencies. We remind you that children remain under the responsibility of their parents or chaperones throughout the visit.
